Monday Morning Musings

Oh Joy, oh Rapture! Grey's Anatomy came on after all last night! Granted, it wasn't a new episode, but it was one I hadn't seen. Nothing gets me pumped up for the work week like Patrick Dempsey et all. in scrubs!

I've been pretty quiet on here about my beloved Cats so far this season. Up until now there weren't many good things to say about them, and if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all! Well, the Wildcats showed up to play on Saturday and kicked Louisville's tail all the way back to the almost-Indiana border. (How do you pronounce the capital of Kentucky anyways? Is it Loo-UH-ville or Loo-EE-ville?) With Morris back in time for SEC play, and Rondo starting to lead the team on the court, the season may just start to get entertaining.

And finally, this just made my Monday morning! Christmas will be here soon- Hugs to everyone!

I think Mary Anna's got the pronunciation right. Although, I look forward to hearing what our Kentucky-native, Sarah Scottie-too-hottie, has to day about it. And I couldn't agree more about Grey's Anatomy. ...insert growl noise...

I mean "say about it", not "day about it". Man, those 4 hours of sleep are really catching up with me!

How about Frankfort? :-)

It's amazing how much difference a miracle fax, a 45-minute meeting between the coach and his star player, and one week of dwelling on the worst loss in 16 years, can do for a team... go cats!

Whoops! I'm way behind in the readin' here, but since everyone is waiting with bated breath I'll weigh in on the Louisville question. Here they are, the hard and fast rules for pronouncing Louisville, KY (aka the largest and most crime-ridden city, not the capital city):

1. You do not say "ville" at the end. You say "vull." (This is, of course, unless you are simply saying "The Ville"...which some of us like to do just to avoid conversations like this one.)

2. When attempting to speak well and appear cultured, you must say "LOU-uh-vull," with emphasis on the Lou syllable instead of the Uh syllable.

3. When you're in the company of the less-cultured, it is appropriate and even courteous to refer to the town in question as "luhvull." Try it.

4. Unless you want to be spotted as: A. one of the many Northern Kentuckians who the rest of us pretty much don't claim anyway because of their overwhelming resemblance to the all-hated Buckeyes (nee Ohians), B. one of those other Damn Yankees, C. Dick Vitale, you are never under any circumstances allowed to say Lou-EE-ville. It's obnoxious and we all hate it. Thanks.
